Eka High Pressure Fittings is a High Quality Ball Valves Manufacturer in Mumbai, India. We are a leading manufacturer of Ball Valves in Mumbai and nearby areas. A Ball Valve is a form of quarter-turn valve which uses a hollow, perforated and pivoting Ball to control flow through it. It is open when the ball’s hole is in line with the flow and closed when it is pivoted 90-degrees by the valve handle. The handle lies flat in alignment with the flow when open, and is perpendicular to it when closed, making for easy visual confirmation of the valve’s status. Ball Valves are hard wearing, performing well after many cycles, and reliable, closing securely even after long periods of disuse. These qualities make them an excellent choice for shutoff and control applications, where they are often preferred to gates and Globe Valves, but they lack their fine control in throttling applications.

Ball valve manufacturers have ball valves available with several different features to fit an application.

  • Swing check– A swing check gives a valve the feature of a check valve. This prevents media from backing up into the system.
  • Valve stops– A stopper that only permits 90° rotation.
  • Position indicators– Piston indicators are placed on the top of the ball to indicate the direction of flow. This is especially useful in multi-port ball valves.
  • Standard face-to-face dimensions– These dimensions comply with ASMS standards and make the ball easy to retrofit and replace in-line with most other valves.
  • Anti-static– Anti-static design features can prevent static electricity from building up due to the valve rubbing against the elastomer seat. Static can pose a fire hazard, especially if the system has flammable liquids.
  • Fire safe– Fire safe ball valves feature a back-up metal seat. This is important if the temperature of the system gets high enough to melt or soften the plastic seal. The metal seat acts as a seal when the ball rests across the seal.

Ball Valves FAQ
  • They provide leak-proof service,
  • Open and close quickly,
  • Compared to gate valves, they have very small dimensions,
  • Compared to gate valves, they are lighter,
  • The multi designed flexibility does not exist in the Gate or Globe valve, and hence it lowers the amount of valves needed.

Many people use them successfully for throttling clear water. Ball valves have low pressure drops, open and close quickly, are simple, and are trouble free. With the development of Teflon seals, ball valves have grown in popularity. Opening or closin a ball valve too quickly can cause fluid hammer.

1) Ball valves are designed to be opened by rotating the lever handle in a counterclockwise direction, and closing in a clockwise direction. The handle indicates the ball port direction. 2) Under certain conditions, throttling flow in the near-closed position can destroy the valve seats.

Ball valves are perhaps the easiest valve to see if they are open or closed. If the handle on top is parallel to the valve, it’s open. Likewise, if the handle is perpendicular to the top, the valve is closed.

Ball valves, also called shut-off valves, tend to be increasingly found in newer homes. Ball valves use a handle to control the placement of a hollow, perforated sphere in the mechanism. When the handle is turned, the hole immediately opens or closes the water flow.

The ball valve is often a valve of choice in pipeline applications, as it is very reliable and provides an air-tight seal when it is turned off, as well as being quick and easy to operate. They are quite compact and generally require little maintenance.
